General Postpartum & Lactation Case Reviews:
General Postpartum Case Reviews
General Postpartum Case Reviews address general family needs and support WisdomWay First Year Specialists, postpartum doulas, non-medical providers, and in-home caregivers.
Topics might include: Practice -related challenges or topics, COVID precautions for doula practices, perinatal/post-adoption mental health, postpartum complications, family adjustment, transitions back to work, client communication, setting boundaries, infant needs, such as sleep, development, special needs and more.
We’ll look at developing our practice in ways that are evidence-based, and through the Compass of Mindful Caregiving. How can we build and use our skills and knowledge, maintain compassion for all we care for, establish great communication with our clients and their chosen Circle of Support, and maintain a partnership with those we serve that is based on respect, compassion, and healing-informed care?
Dates & Times:
2nd Tuesday of the month from 4-5pm CST.

Lactation Case Reviews
Lactation Case Reviews are facilitated by Board Certified Lactation Consultants and WisdomWay mentors and address lactation complications, nutrition support, and associated psychosocial challenges and barriers.
Topics might include: any lactation complication or management challenge, an unusual presentation of feeding behaviors, balancing lactation goals with restorative sleep, lactation after previous insufficiency, engaging family support for breastfeeding, collaboration within healthcare teams, cultural competencies, lactation during health challenges, lactation in the presence of perinatal mood disorders.
We’ll explore our own experiences as lactation professionals or doulas, that might include responding to conflicted emotions, removing obstacles, supporting confidence, avoiding shame, blame or pressure, the art of collaboration. Lactation care is more than the dyad, but involves engagement of the Circle of Support, and attunement to the context of lactation within the intersectionality of race, class, family structures, gender identity, communities, and our cultural fabric. We’ll use the Compass of Mindful Caregiving to frame our discussions.
Dates and times:
4th Tuesday of the month from 4 -5pm CST.
